Accessibility Statement for synsam.com

Our commitment

At Synsam, we are committed to ensuring that our website and services are accessible to everyone, regardless of ability, disability, or technology. Accessibility is an important part of our digital presence, and our goal is to provide an inclusive user experience that makes it easy for all users to find information, make purchases, and access support.

We continuously work to develop and improve our website in line with recognised accessibility standards. This includes regular reviews of our services, ongoing technical and design improvements, and collaboration with external partners to ensure we meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.

Accessibility status

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2, due to the non-compliances listed below. We have implemented a number of improvements to make our website easier to use:

  • Buttons, links and form fields include clear labels that are accessible to screen readers (WCAG 2.5.3)
  • Error messages in forms are presented clearly and are easy to understand (WCAG 3.3.1, 3.3.3)
  • Text and background colours provide sufficient contrast for readability (WCAG 1.4.3)
  • A “skip to content” link is available to help users navigate efficiently (WCAG 2.4.1)
  • The website respects the “reduced motion” setting by avoiding auto-playing animations and moving content (WCAG 2.3.3)
  • Full keyboard navigation is supported, with visible focus indicators (WCAG 2.1.1, 2.4.7)
  • Images include descriptive alternative text (WCAG 1.1.1)
  • Interactive maps can be used without a mouse (WCAG 2.1.1)
  • Links clearly describe their purpose and destination (WCAG 2.4.4)

Known issues

Despite our efforts, some parts of the website are not yet fully accessible. We are aware of these issues and are actively working to resolve them:

  • Some content elements use incorrect or unclear semantic structure, which may affect how assistive technologies interpret them (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • On some pages, users may need to scroll in two directions at high zoom levels (400%) (WCAG 1.4.10)
  • The website does not always fully respect the “reduced motion” setting (WCAG 2.3.3)
  • The “View in 3D” feature requires arrow keys or drag interactions and is not fully accessible to all users (WCAG 2.1.1)
  • The process for adding items to the basket and completing checkout needs improvement from an accessibility perspective (WCAG 3.3.4)
